Rev. Jonathan Hauze, Pastor, St. Paul’s UCC, Exton, PA, representing the Ursinus Association, offers the greeting and leads the actual installation service of Rev. Jeffrey G. Johnson as the pastor of UCC Christ Church, Norristown, PA.
Christ Church Consistory President, James Foster, Sr., presents the call for Jeffrey G. Johnson as our pastor and teacher and respectfully requests that the Ursinus Association install him in this ministry amoung us, according to the faith and order of the United Church of Christ.
Pastor Jeff professed his service to Christ Church with the words, “I am willing, and I promise to serve this church faithfully, preaching and teaching the word of God, administering the sacraments, and fulfilling the pastoral office, according to the faith and order of United Church of Christ.”
To which the Church Members responded, “We, the members of Christ Church United Church of Christ, receive Jeffrey Johnson as our pastor and teacher, promising to labor with him in the ministry of the gospel and to give him due honor and support. We gather with him and with the United Church of Christ as a sign of our mutual ministry in Christ’s name.”
Ursinus Association members present declared,”We, the members of the Ursinus Association of the United Church of Christ, gather with you, the people, and the pastor and teacher of Christ Church United Church of Christ, as a sign of our covenant and in celebration of our mutual ministry in Christ’s name.”
Rev. Nancy L. Gottshall, Associate Conference Minister, Pennsylvania Southeast Conference UCC, offered a greeting and remarks and presented Pastor Johnson with two documents; the first, “The Ordained Minister’s Code” and the other the covenant of the people with the pastor.
